By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans across the country are waking up to overcast skies and the anticipation of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms today. The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued a weather advisory, cautioning residents about the relatively moist and unstable conditions that are expected to persist throughout the day and into the night.
While the coastal regions can expect a high of 90°F (32°C), those residing inland may experience slightly warmer temperatures reaching up to 94°F (34°C). The hill regions will enjoy milder temperatures, peaking at a comfortable 80°F (27°C). Marine conditions are predicted to remain relatively calm with easterly winds blowing at 5-10 knots, creating slight sea states.
The good news is that neither Hurricane Isaac, currently situated northwest of the Azores, nor Tropical Storm Joyce, located east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, pose any immediate threat to Belize. However, the Meteorological Service is closely monitoring an area of low pressure in the western Caribbean Sea for any signs of potential development.
The forecast for Monday and Monday night indicates a continuation of the current weather pattern, with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms expected to affect various parts of the country. Residents are strongly advised to stay updated on the latest weather developments and take necessary precautions when venturing outdoors.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions for outdoor activities, Belizeans and visitors alike are encouraged to embrace the cozy atmosphere brought on by the rainy weather and explore the country’s numerous indoor attractions and cultural experiences. Remember, a little rain can’t dampen the vibrant spirit of Belize!
