By Belize Live News Staff: Police have arrested and charged Matyas Bo, 26, for the fatal stabbing of his older brother, John Bo, following a heated argument in Bella Vista village. The incident occurred at around 10:30 AM on Wednesday when 35-year-old John Bo was drinking with Matyas and two others in his yard. Tensions quickly escalated during a dispute over a bottle of rum.
The altercation turned physical when Matyas punched John in the mouth and attempted to pull out a knife, though he was initially unable to open it. In response, John picked up a cement block and struck Matyas on the head. Matyas eventually managed to open the knife, and as John prepared to hurl another block, he suddenly dropped it, giving Matyas an opportunity to stab him in the chest.
John Bo succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Police detained Matyas Bo immediately following the incident.
