18-year-old arrested for firing 18 shots at Roaring Creek Police Station

By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities have charged 18-year-old Shamar Smith for a shocking incident that occurred in June when shots were fired at the Roaring Creek police station.

The incident, described as one of the boldest acts of lawlessness, involved 18 shots being fired at the front of the station. Officer Amin Leslie, who was on the station’s balcony at the time, narrowly escaped injury.

Shamar Smith, a resident of Antelope Street in Belize City, was arrested and now faces charges of aggravated assault, damage to property, and mischievous act.

The weapon used in the attack was identified as a prohibited .40 caliber pistol.

Despite the severity of the crime, the motive behind the act remains unclear.
