By Belize Live News Staff: Following a tragic accident in Unitedville on Friday, September 20, 2024, that claimed the life of motorcyclist Miguel Maldonado, the driver involved has been served with a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP). The collision, which occurred at around 7:45 p.m., involved Maldonado’s motorcycle and a Toyota Corolla driven by Donovan Tzib.
Authorities arrived on the scene to find both vehicles extensively damaged. Maldonado was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The initial investigation points to Tzib’s Toyota Corolla striking Maldonado’s motorcycle, leading to the fatal injuries.
As part of the investigation, Tzib underwent a urine test, and the NIP was issued.
The police are continuing their inquiry into the accident, gathering crucial evidence to establish whether further charges will follow.
