By Belize Live News Staff: A woman from San Jose Village reported being verbally and physically assaulted on Saturday evening while purchasing food in Orange Walk Town.
The woman told police she was buying churros on Queen Victoria Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m. when her cousin approached her. According to the woman, her cousin insulted her, calling her derogatory names in Spanish, before grabbing her right hand and scratching her forearm, causing pain and swelling.
A medico-legal form was issued, and a doctor certified the woman’s injuries as “Harm.” The cousin is now wanted in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
