Man arrested for disorderly conduct during traffic stop in Orange Walk

By Belize Live News Staff: A man was arrested on Saturday morning in Orange Walk Town for disorderly conduct during a routine traffic stop, Belize police said.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. on September 21, 2024, officers stopped a Ford Escort on Queen Victoria Street. Upon instructing the driver and passenger to exit the vehicle, the passenger began acting disorderly. The individual climbed onto the vehicle, refused to comply with the officers’ requests to come down, and used profanity.

Justifiable force was used to detain the man, and he was subsequently arrested and charged with “Boisterous Behavior.” He was informed of his rights and escorted to the police station.

Police are continuing their investigation.
