Father and son hospitalized after stabbing incident in Orange Walk

By Belize Live News Staff: A father and son from Carmelita Village were hospitalized on Saturday night after being stabbed during an altercation while selling alcohol at a roadside stall in Orange Walk Town.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Belize Corozal Road, in front of Zeta Auto Parts. Investigations reveal that the two men were selling beer when a male customer, described as dark-skinned and under the influence of alcohol, approached to make a purchase. An argument broke out, leading to the customer stabbing the son in the neck and chest. The father, attempting to assist his son, was also stabbed.

Both men were transported to the Northern Regional Hospital (NRH), where the father is listed in stable condition, while the son remains in critical condition. A black-handled pocket knife was recovered at the scene as evidence.

Witnesses have been identified, and police are continuing their investigation.
