By Belize Live News Staff: 45-year-old construction worker Abisur Loza fell to his death on Thursday while working at a building site on Ambergris Caye, just north of San Pedro Town.
Loza had been handling a drainage pipe on the fourth floor of the Clearwater Belize properties when coworkers heard a sudden crash. Moments later, they found him lying on the ground, bleeding from his ears, nose, and head. Despite immediate efforts to help, Loza was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which has left the construction site reeling. No details have yet emerged regarding safety measures in place at the time of the fall, as officials work to determine how the accident occurred.
