Belize Weather: Enjoy the sunshine now, potential tropical depression next week

Belize soaks in sunshine, showers looming inland

By Belize Live News Staff: A weak tropical wave is currently passing over Belize, bringing a mix of sunshine and clouds to the country today. While isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected, particularly in coastal and northern areas this morning, and inland and central regions this afternoon, conditions will generally remain pleasant.

However, the National Meteorological Service (NMS) is closely monitoring a potential area of low pressure that could form over the northwestern Caribbean Sea early next week. This system has the potential to develop into a tropical depression, bringing increased rainfall and potential flooding to the region.

Weekend Outlook: Cloudy periods with a few showers and thunderstorms across the country on Saturday. Increased shower and thunderstorm activity is expected on Saturday night, especially over the south and coast.

Marine Conditions: Winds are east to southeast at 5-15 knots. The sea state is slight with waves of 1-3 feet.

Temperatures: Expect a high of 89°F (32°C) and a low of 81°F (27°C) on the coast. Inland areas will see a high of 94°F (34°C) and a low of 74°F (23°C). In the hills, temperatures will range from a high of 80°F (27°C) to a low of 68°F (20°C).
