By Belize Live News Staff: An 11-foot statue of George Price, widely regarded as the father of Belize’s independence, was unveiled at Battlefield Park on Wednesday.
The bronze figure, created by local artist Stephen Okeke, celebrates Price’s legacy as the nation’s first Prime Minister and leader of the movement that secured Belize’s independence from Britain in 1981.
The unveiling, attended by community leaders and residents, is part of ongoing efforts to honor Price’s contributions to Belize’s history.
