Former Dangriga area representative Ivan Ramos dies

By Belize Live News Staff: Ivan Michael “Maca” Ramos, former Area Representative for the Dangriga constituency, has passed away. Ramos, a member of the People’s United Party (PUP), was elected in 2012 and served until his resignation in 2015. His resignation followed a failed attempt to retain his standard bearer status ahead of the 2015 general election.

Ramos was also the grandson of prominent Garifuna activist T.V. Ramos, a significant figure in Belize’s cultural history.

In a statement, PUP officials, including Hon. Dr. Louis Zabaneh, extended condolences to his family, saying, “May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory.”

Further details on funeral arrangements are pending.
