By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is set to enjoy a delightful day of mostly fair and warm weather, with sunny skies prevailing across the country. However, residents and visitors should be prepared for isolated showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the Maya Mountains and southern regions during the afternoon.
The National Meteorological Service of Belize reports that temperatures will remain comfortable, ranging from a high of 96°F inland to a pleasant 68°F in the hills. Coastal areas will experience a mild 90°F, perfect for enjoying the beaches.
The easterly winds at 5-10 knots will ensure calm seas with waves reaching only 1-3 feet, ideal for boating and water activities.
As the day progresses, expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies on Monday, with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms affecting mainly central and southern areas in the morning. The shower activity will diminish in the afternoon, becoming isolated, except for a few lingering showers in the south Monday night.
In the wider Caribbean region, Tropical Storm Gordon is currently located far east of the Northern Leeward Islands, moving west-southwest. Meteorologists are also monitoring a non-tropical area of low pressure off the southeastern U.S. coast, which has a moderate chance of developing into a subtropical or tropical system in the next 48 hours.
While Belize enjoys the pleasant weather, residents are encouraged to stay updated on the latest forecasts and advisories, especially those in areas prone to afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
Remember, a little rain never hurt anyone, and it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or curl up with a good book!
