By Belize Live News Staff: A 21-year-old construction worker from the Cayo District, Allen Karson Coye, has been arrested and charged with the manslaughter of 58-year-old Belhelm Guzman. Guzman’s body was found bound and with chop wounds on September 8th in Camalote Village. Guzman’s family had reported him missing several days before.
According to reports, Guzman, who had vision problems and often became disoriented, had not returned home for several days, prompting his family to issue a public plea for help in locating him. His body was eventually discovered in a bushy area off the main road in Camalote Village.
Coye is currently being held on remand at the Hattieville Prison. The motive for the crime is still unknown.
