By Belize Live News Staff: A strong tropical wave is currently affecting Belize, bringing mostly cloudy to overcast skies throughout the country today and tonight. Belizeans can expect areas of rain, with several showers and thunderstorms impacting most regions during this period. Marine conditions include winds from the south to southeast at 10-20 knots, creating a moderate sea state with waves between 4 and 6 feet.
In Belize’s coastal areas, temperatures will reach 86°F during the day and drop to 78°F at night. Inland regions will experience warmer temperatures, peaking at 88°F during the day and cooling down to 71°F overnight. In the hilly areas, daytime highs will be around 78°F, with nighttime lows of 65°F.
A small craft caution is in effect for Belize’s coastal waters due to gusty winds and locally rough seas, particularly near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Small craft operators are advised to exercise caution when heading out to sea.
Looking ahead to Saturday, cloudy to mostly cloudy skies will persist across Belize. Rain, accompanied by a few showers and thunderstorms, will continue to affect most areas, especially inland by the afternoon. Saturday night will see more showers and thunderstorms, particularly in southern and coastal areas.
Today’s tides include a low tide at 5:27 AM, a high tide at 11:50 AM, and another low tide at 6:02 PM. Tomorrow’s high tide is set for 11:45 PM. The sun will rise at 5:39 AM and set at 6:01 PM, with the moon rising at 8:23 AM and setting at 8:12 PM.
