By Belize Live News Staff: In a joint operation conducted on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024, at 4:00 pm, authorities seized a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine and detained multiple individuals at the residence of Alicia Margarita Montalvo.
The operation, involving Corozal Quartermaster, MIT, and SPU, was initially launched in pursuit of illegal firearms and ammunition. However, during the search, officers discovered eight parcels of suspected cocaine within a room belonging to Nadiel Jasiel Montalvo.
The discovery was made after Montalvo voluntarily declared to the police that he possessed illegal substances. A subsequent search of his room revealed the parcels concealed within various locations, including a wardrobe and a pillowcase. All parcels bore the distinctive “Dolce Gabbana” markings.
Following the discovery, all occupants of the residence were informed of the offense committed, “Possession of controlled drugs with the intent to supply to another,” and were subsequently cautioned. Among those present was Enair Abieser Montalvo, who identified himself as a Corporal of Police and claimed the residence belonged to his mother. He was informed that any illegal items found would be presumed to be his.
All individuals at the scene, along with the seized suspected cocaine, were escorted to the Corozal Police Station for further processing.
Investigations are ongoing, and further details may be released as they become available.
