By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is in for a damp few days as the National Meteorological Service forecasts widespread showers, thunderstorms, and periods of rain. The weather is expected to be particularly active in the northern and central regions today, with an increase in intensity anticipated tonight, especially in the south and along the coast.
Residents are advised to take precautions and be mindful of potential flooding and disruptions. Motorists should exercise extra caution on the roads, and those living in flood-prone areas should be prepared to take necessary action.
The marine forecast calls for choppy seas with waves reaching up to 5 feet. A Small Craft Caution is in effect due to the likelihood of gusty winds and rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. Boaters and seafarers are urged to exercise caution and stay updated on the latest weather advisories.
Temperatures will remain warm, with coastal areas experiencing highs in the mid-80s and lows in the upper 70s. Inland areas will see highs near 90 and lows in the low 70s.
The Meteorological Service is also monitoring a tropical wave in the Caribbean Sea. While some development is possible later this week or early next week, no immediate threat is expected.
Belize Live News will continue to provide updates on the weather situation as it develops. Stay tuned for the latest information and stay safe!
