Atlantic sees trio of tropical waves as hurricane season progresses

By Belize Live News Staff: The first system, located over Hispaniola and the central Caribbean Sea, is generating disorganized showers and thunderstorms. It is expected to move westward, with the possibility of forming a tropical depression as it approaches the western Caribbean Sea and the southwestern Gulf of Mexico later this week. The NHC estimates a 40% chance of development within the next seven days.

A second tropical wave over the eastern Atlantic is also producing disorganized weather. Environmental conditions are forecasted to improve slightly, allowing for potential tropical depression formation as it moves slowly west-northwestward. This system holds a 40% chance of development and could bring heavy rains and gusty winds to the Cabo Verde Islands in the coming days.

The third wave, situated between Africa and the Lesser Antilles, is showing limited development prospects. While it may see some slow growth over the next few days, environmental factors by the end of the week are expected to hinder further development. The NHC has given this system a 10% chance of formation.

Residents in the Caribbean and nearby regions are advised to stay informed of these developments.
