By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize has forecasted relatively moist conditions across the country for today, August 31, 2024. The morning report indicates that Belizeans can expect a mix of sunshine and occasional cloudy spells throughout the day, with isolated showers or thunderstorms likely, especially in inland areas this afternoon and over the southern regions tonight.
Marine conditions are expected to remain calm with light winds from the east-southeast at 5 to 15 knots, creating a slight sea state and wave heights between 1 and 3 feet. Temperatures will range from a high of 90°F (32°C) along the coast to 95°F (35°C) inland, with cooler readings of 81°F (27°C) in the hilly areas.
The tropical weather outlook highlights some disorganized showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave currently located several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Although this system has a low probability of developing into a tropical depression over the next 48 hours, the National Meteorological Service is closely monitoring its westward movement towards the Caribbean Sea. No other tropical cyclone formations are anticipated in the coming days.
Looking ahead, similar weather conditions are expected for Sunday, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms continuing to affect the country. Residents are advised to stay informed through regular updates from the National Meteorological Service.
Today’s tides include high tides at 8:04 AM and 9:21 PM, with low tides at 3:23 PM and early tomorrow at 2:25 AM. The sun rose at 5:38 AM this morning and will set at 6:06 PM, while the moon will set at 4:52 PM and rise again at 4:24 AM.
