Showers and thunderstorms to drench Belize today

Belize braces for widespread showers and thunderstorms as weather system moves in

By Belize Live News Staff: Belize Live News is keeping a close eye on the weather as moist and unstable conditions prevail across the country. The National Meteorological Service has issued a forecast indicating cloudy skies with intermittent sunny breaks, but the main story today will be the scattered showers, thunderstorms, and periods of light to moderate rain expected throughout the day.

Residents in the northern and central regions are particularly advised to be prepared for heavier rainfall this morning, with the possibility of localized flooding in some areas. The rain is expected to shift inland as the day progresses, eventually impacting southern and coastal areas by tonight.

Mariners are also warned to exercise caution as a small craft caution is in effect due to gusty winds and the potential for rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms.

While the wet weather may put a damper on outdoor plans, the good news is that there is no threat of tropical cyclone formation in the foreseeable future. The National Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.

Stay tuned to Belize Live News for the latest weather information and advisories throughout the day. Remember, safety first! Be prepared and take precautions to protect yourself and your property during this period of unsettled weather.
