Contributed: The Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change, through the National Climate Change Office, is excited to announce Belize Climate Week 2024. The event will be held from August 25 to 28, 2024, at the Gala Lounge in Orange Walk Town, under the theme: “Climate Action: Inspiring Change, Driving Advocacy, Promoting Inclusivity, and Fostering Innovation.” This event is a critical part of the Climate Change Agenda bringing the youth and agriculture constituencies to be a part of the solution to combat Climate Change in Belize.
The event will unfold as follows:
1. August 25: Innovation fair entitled ‘Inspiring Change,featuring displays from government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.
2. August 26: Official opening ceremony, followed by presentations by climate change experts from Belize and the region aimed at engaging youths.
3. August 27: Youth and agriculture forum.
4. August 28: Negotiators Training: Preparation for COP29.
Belize Climate Week 2024 promises to be a dynamic and engaging platform for discussions on pressing climate issues and the promotion of sustainable solutions. This four-day gathering will bring together a diverse array of youths from all over the country, all committed to advancing climate action and building a more resilient future for Belize.
