By Belize Live News Staff: In a shocking development, sources within the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change reveal that a substantial amount of money, potentially exceeding half a million dollars, has gone missing from the Belize Solid Waste Management Authority.
The Ministry has confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is currently underway, involving both the Belize Police Department and internal authorities. While the exact figure remains uncertain, the potential scale of the alleged wrongdoing has prompted swift action at the highest levels of government.
Minister Orlando Habet briefed Cabinet on the situation during today’s session, and the Ministry has pledged to provide all relevant information to both the Ministry of the Public Service and the Belize Police Department.
