By Belize Live News Staff: Sofia Carlson, a 15-year-old girl, was injured in a shark attack while diving near Halfmoon Caye today.
The incident occurred after she re-entered the water following a dive with Belize Dive Pro. The dive boat crew, led by Captain Gilbert Estell, quickly transported her to the Coast Guard base at Calabash for initial medical treatment.
Carlson, accompanied by her mother and a dive guide, was then airlifted to Belize City for further care.
The extent of her injuries remains unclear.
