By Belize Live News Staff: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams provided an update this evening on the investigation into an attack on former Belize City Councilor and businesswoman Deannie Requena in the Hattieville area.
Requena was discovered with injuries to her face and neck around 1:30 this afternoon along the George Price Highway. She was transported to the hospital by police. Commissioner Williams described Requena’s injuries as “not serious” but requested prayers for her “quick and complete recovery.”
According to Williams, Requena has filed a police report, and the individuals believed to be responsible for her injuries have been apprehended and “are expected to be charged tomorrow.” No information was provided regarding a possible motive or the number of individuals involved.
