By Belize Live News Staff: Guatemala has achieved a historic milestone in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by securing its second-ever Olympic medal. Jean Pierre Brol’s bronze medal in the men’s trap shooting competition marks a momentous occasion for the Central American nation.
This is not only Guatemala’s second Olympic medal overall but also its first medal in the Paris Games. This achievement also makes Guatemala the first Central American country to win a medal in the current Olympic Games.
The nation’s first Olympic medal was won by race walker Erick Barrondo, who took silver in the 20km walk in London 2012.
Congratulations to Jean Pierre Brol and Guatemala on this historic accomplishment!
