By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is set for a wet and stormy day, with cloudy skies and widespread showers and thunderstorms expected across the country, the national weather service said on Friday.
The southern and coastal regions are likely to be the first to experience the downpours, with the storms gradually spreading inland.
Mariners have been warned of rough seas with waves up to 5 feet and winds gusting up to 20 knots from the east. Small craft advisories are in effect along the entire coastline.
Temperatures will remain warm and humid, reaching the low 90s Fahrenheit (low 30s Celsius) inland and the mid-80s Fahrenheit (high 20s Celsius) along the coast.
The unsettled weather is forecast to persist into Saturday, particularly in the southern and coastal areas, though no tropical cyclone formation is expected in the region over the next 48 hours.
