Armed robbers target San Ignacio butane depot, $2,300 stolen

By Belize Live News Staff: A daring robbery unfolded at the Western Gas Company butane depot on Flamboyant Street in the Santiago Juan Layout area of San Ignacio Town last Saturday, July 13th. The incident has left the community on edge and business owners concerned about security.

According to eyewitness accounts, the robbery occurred around 8:00 pm as the butane pump attendant was closing up for the night. Two men, one armed with what appeared to be a .38 revolver and the other wielding a knife, ambushed the attendant, demanding cash. The robbers made off with an estimated $2,300 in cash, fleeing towards the San Ignacio Community Hospital.

Police responded to the scene but were unable to locate the suspects. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of those responsible.
