Consumers to feel pinch as LPG Prices increase due to global market trends

By Belize Live News Staff: The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise’s Supplies Control Unit (SCU) today announced that new controlled prices for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will be implemented nationwide starting Wednesday, July 10th, 2024. The revised pricing structure now accounts for both wholesale and retail sales by volume in urban and rural areas.

Consumers can expect a BZ $0.26 increase per gallon for the current shipment, attributed mainly to a rise in the acquisition cost of propane and butane. The SCU emphasized that these prices are established for imported LPG mixtures of 70:30 (Propane: Butane) only, in accordance with the Belize National Standard Specification for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) BZS 21:2012.

For further information or inquiries, the public is encouraged to contact the Supplies Control Unit at 828-5018, 828-5090, or via email at desiree.montes@agriculture.gov.bz.
