By Belize Live News Staff: Police are searching for four men involved in a violent home invasion targeting 78-year-old Alan Slusher in Burrell Boom, Belize District, on Tuesday evening.
According to police reports, Slusher arrived home from work around 6:30 p.m. and parked his grey Toyota Hilux (license plate BZC 38871) in front of his residence. Shortly after, he was confronted by the suspects, three of whom were armed. The men held Slusher at gunpoint, seizing his nine-millimeter pistol and ransacking his home. They also took his vehicle keys, bound him with wire and duct tape, and fled the scene in his vehicle. Fortunately, Slusher was not physically harmed beyond the initial encounter.
After several hours, Slusher managed to free himself and contacted the police around 9:30 p.m.
Alan Slusher is a prominent figure in Belize’s civil service, having served as Financial Secretary and Governor of the Central Bank, among other notable positions.
