By Belize Live News: This past weekend, two individuals were arrested after a police search of their vehicle yielded nearly 17 pounds of marijuana. Acting on a tip, officers focused their investigation on a Ford Ranger Pickup parked outside Friendship Restaurant on Central American Boulevard.
The driver, 37-year-old Rudolph Mossiah, and his passenger, 25-year-old Carla Lopez, were detained when police discovered a white crocus bag containing the illicit substance stashed behind the passenger seat. Both individuals were subsequently transported to the Mahogany Street Police Station for processing.
The total weight of the marijuana seized amounted to just under 17 pounds, making it a significant drug bust for police. The suspects are expected to face charges related to drug trafficking and possession.
