CARICOM Chairman expresses deep concern over Hurricane Beryl

By Belize Live News Staff: As the Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, expresses deep concern and anxiety over the passage of Hurricane Beryl through the region. Initial reports indicate significant damage to infrastructure and private property in some territories. With the storm still raging through the Windward Islands, the region braces for high winds, storm surges, and heavy rainfall.

Chairman Ali urges all citizens and the private sector to collaborate closely with their respective governments and regional emergency response mechanisms to provide immediate support and relief to those affected by the hurricane. The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) is already actively mobilizing and coordinating assistance and disaster relief efforts.

The Chairman emphasizes this as a time for regional solidarity, calling on all members of the Caribbean community to come together and extend support to those impacted or likely to be impacted by Hurricane Beryl. He calls for the mobilization of necessary assistance and relief efforts in the spirit of regional cooperation.

Dr. Ali expresses confidence that together, the Caribbean community will overcome the challenges posed by Hurricane Beryl and ensure the safety and well-being of all its people and communities.
