By Belize Live News Staff: A 22-year-old woman, Jasmine Fortune, is in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital following a shooting incident on Beltex Crescent early this morning.
Preliminary reports indicate that Ms. Fortune had been at Long Island Bar with her boyfriend earlier in the evening. An argument reportedly escalated into violence, with the boyfriend allegedly striking Ms. Fortune.
Ms. Fortune was subsequently taken to the Belama Police Station but declined to cooperate with authorities. Upon returning to her home on Beltex Crescent, she was targeted in a shooting, sustaining injuries that have left her fighting for her life.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the events leading up to it. They are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation.
