Body found floating in Belize City harbor

By Belize Live News Staff: The lifeless body of an unidentified Hispanic male was discovered floating in the sea near the San Pedro Water Taxi terminal on North Front Street this morning.

According to authorities, police were alerted to the scene around 5:15 AM after receiving a call from the Police Control Room. Upon arrival, they found the deceased individual, described as having shoulder-length black hair and wearing red boxer shorts and long blue jeans, floating face down in the water.

The man’s body was marked with several tattoos, including a cross on his right arm, a cross with flames on his left arm, and another tattoo on his inner left foot.

A Scene of Crime Technician documented the scene with photographs before the body, identified as John Doe, was pronounced dead at 6:25 AM. The body was subsequently transported to the National Forensic Science Service morgue for further examination.

Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death and are working to identify him. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Belize Police Department.
