By Belize Live News Staff: Today, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) and United Airlines announced a new seasonal non-stop flight between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City. The highly anticipated route will provide a convenient connection for travelers from the Bay Area and beyond, eager to experience the diverse attractions of Belize.
“This new direct flight from San Francisco marks a significant milestone for Belize’s tourism industry,” said Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations. “It opens a world of possibilities for travelers, providing seamless access to our unique blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion.”
The seasonal service begins on Saturday, December 21, 2024, and will operate on a varied schedule to accommodate peak travel periods:
December 21, 2024 – January 6, 2025 & March 6 – 30, 2025: Saturdays only, with overnight flights.
March 31 – April 30, 2025 & May 22 – August 17, 2025: Saturdays from SFO to BZE, Sundays from BZE to SFO.

This new route will be United’s fifth hub with non-stop service to Belize, joining Houston, New York/Newark, Denver, and Chicago. Importantly, it will also offer unique one-stop connections to Belize from various international cities, including:
- Asia: Taipei, Hong Kong, Singapore
- Europe: London, Frankfurt
- South Pacific: Sydney, Melbourne
The BTB expects this new flight to significantly boost tourism arrivals from the San Francisco Bay area and strengthen ties between Belize and the United States.
