Caribbean disturbance could strengthen in western Caribbean; Impacting Belize late this week

By Belize Live News Staff: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is monitoring a tropical wave located a few hundred miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands.

The system is currently producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms, with environmental conditions favoring slow development once it reaches the western Caribbean Sea late this week. This development could potentially impact Belize and other areas in the region.

The NHC has assessed the formation chance of this disturbance to be low, with near 0% probability within the next 48 hours. However, the potential for development increases over the next 7 days, with a 20% chance of formation.

The system is expected to move westward, and its progress will be closely monitored by the NHC. Residents in Belize, the Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico are advised to stay informed about the latest updates from the NHC and their local weather authorities.
